Update: Character Model...

18:23 0 Comments

So I have NEARLY completed modelling my character, I think I need to tweak a few things but here are a few screen shots of him (below). After 'tweaking', I will tackle UVW unwrapping and I am also going to create my own textures for him in photoshop. Might have some fun and do some painting and then scan it in to edit a bit :o)

'Location Location' Visualisation Project!

I have created a moodboard for this project, which helps me think of the design and atmosphere I want to create within the walk through. I have also selected certain quotes from 'The Attic' chapter from the book which I will consentrate on when designing the interior space.

I am going to link the quotes to the certain items in the attic and also the interior and textures.
Quotes from my chosen chapter:

Tomorrow I will work on the hair, eye balls and the detail in and around his face.
Quite happy with the outcome so far....

Definitely shapes the head a lot better than the other model....

Still working on his forehead and the back of his head, maybe another post later! :)

Brand new Derek!

I decided to start modelling the head from a tutorial on Digital Tutors because it allows you to model shape the head exactly how you want it. I think this will eventually work out better when I've finished, although this is taking a lot longer than I thought. Also, I am going to apply the hair on the character after the head is shaped.

I just wish I wasn't working tonight so I could finish him :o( I'm on a roleeeeeeeeeeeee!

Really unhappy with this...

04:26 0 Comments

I am NOT happy with my character modelling at all. I suppose it is my first attempt at character modelling but the face is an odd shape and it doesn't look anything like my drawing. The body isn't too bad but it doesn't have to personality that I wanted to achieve. Maybe if textures were applied it might not look as bad, but anyway... I am starting again today (PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT) - I hope!!!

I have also subscribed to Digital Tutors, it's very exciting! wooooooo!

This time I will blog stages of the modelling of my character....

Here are a few images and screen shots of my DVD menu for the context two project. I used Adobe Photoshop to create the designs and Adobe Encore to produce the DVD Menu.

Interview with Gabriele Ranfagni that you should check out!

Came across this interview with animator Gabriele Ranfagni. Inspired me to draw a lot more than I already do and to speak to more animators in the industry to help each other out. (well maybe they might have to help me more, ha ha)

Showreel title!

Here is my showreel 'title', it's pretty plain but I think it works quite effectively. Going to add some swish sound effects and have a song throughout the whole reel..... (This is only the opening title)
